The R32 generation revived the GT-R name in 1989 after a sixteen-year absence, and it did so with intent. Nissan engineered the car to win Group A touring car racing, and it did, so completely that it earned the Godzilla nickname in Australia. Under the bonnet sat the RB26DETT, a twin-turbo straight-six designed for far more than the car's road-going figures suggested, fed through the ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system and Super-HICAS four-wheel steering. This example wears NISMO addenda front and rear, the harder-edged interpretation built by Nissan's motorsport arm, sitting low over deep dish bronze-faced wheels and Brembo brakes. It is a homologation-bred coupe that rewrote what a Japanese performance car could be.
MotorHelix captures the restraint of the shape in this silver finish, the slab sides and squared arches reading cleanly under the paint, down to the lattice tail lamps and the GT-R script on the boot. Presented at 1:18 on a fitted base.
