Nissan started production of the R32 Skyline GT-R on 21 August 1989. Its RB26DETT engine is a 2.6-litre twin-turbo straight six, officially rated at 280 PS, the ceiling set by a gentleman's agreement among Japanese makers; tests suggested the true figure was nearer 327 hp. Drive went through the ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system, with HICAS rear-wheel steering coming in above 80 km/h. In 1989 Best Motoring took a production car to the Nordschleife, where Motoharu Kurosawa lapped in 8:22.38, the fastest production car there at the time. When production ended in November 1994, 43,937 had been built.
This one is in Pearl White, a clean white with a soft sheen. NISMO plates are fitted front and rear, and the red GT badge sits on each front wing. Through the side windows a roll cage shows behind the seats. The black five-spoke wheels carry NISMO logos and Bridgestone tyres, with drilled discs and orange calipers behind them. At the back are the four round lamps, the SKYLINE lettering and a single tailpipe, and the car sits on a dark grey leather base. MotorHelix builds it at 1:18.
