Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, Red

The SLS AMG Black Series was the most extreme expression of Mercedes-AMG's gullwing: a stripped, widened, track-sharpened version of the SLS with a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 spun to 622 horsepower, carbon-fibre bodywork, and a chassis tuned by the people who built the road car's GT3 racer. Here it wears a retro competition livery built around the number 35 and a wall of period sponsor decals (AMG, Castrol, SECA, H.E. Sieger Briefmarken), a nod to AMG's racing roots and the marque's habit of dressing its hottest cars in heritage colours. The carbon front splitter, fixed rear wing, quad tailpipes, and gloss-black multi-spoke wheels are all faithful to the real car; it is a road car engineered like a homologation special, made for drivers who wanted the gullwing at its rawest.

The finish is a deep competition red carrying the full decal package, with the carbon aero elements and dark wheels picked out against it. H&H builds it at 1:18 on a presentation base, every sponsor mark and panel line rendered by hand. A faithful tribute to one of AMG's last great naturally aspirated cars.
