The 722 Edition takes its name from the 1955 Mille Miglia, won by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in a 300 SLR carrying start number 722, after their 7.22 a.m. start time. Mercedes introduced it in 2006 and limited it to 150 cars. The SLR itself was styled by Mercedes and engineered and built by McLaren at Woking, with a body largely of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic and a hand-built 5.4-litre supercharged V8. For the 722 that engine went from 626 to 650 PS, the ride height dropped by about 10 mm on stiffer dampers, the front brake discs grew from 370 to 390 mm, and 19-inch wheels cut unsprung mass. Mercedes quoted 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 337 km/h.

This one is finished in a bright metallic orange, with a carbon stripe running back from the three-pointed star over the bonnet. The wheels are dark multi-spoke designs with a polished rim edge and red calipers behind them, a small 722 badge sits on each front wing above the gill vents, and the twin side exhausts exit below the doors. A carbon front splitter, a dark roof and SLR script on the boot lid complete the car. The tan leather base has contrast stitching and a glass plaque at the front. IVY builds it at 1:18.
