Mercedes-Benz G63, Polar White

The G-Class earned its shape on military proving grounds in the late 1970s and has barely surrendered a line of it since; the W463 generation kept the upright glasshouse, the exposed door hinges and the side-mounted spare while quietly modernising everything underneath. In G63 form, AMG drops its hand-built 4.0-litre V8 biturbo into a body that still looks like it was drawn with a ruler, and the contradiction is the whole point: a 577bhp luxury SUV dressed as a go-anywhere relic, equally at home on a desert run or a hotel forecourt. The gloss black arches, AMG cross-spoke wheels and red calipers seen here mark the performance flagship; the V8 BITURBO script on the wing and the locking differentials it never mentions do the rest.

Reproduced in Polar White, the model carries the squared-off silhouette cleanly: panel gaps tight along the slab sides, the spare-wheel cover and tail badging crisp against the bodywork. It is built at 1:18 on a carbon-topped presentation base.
