Carlex Design is a Polish design studio that builds bespoke versions of the Mercedes G-Class, and its Vintage line makes the current G 63 look several decades older. Carlex previewed the idea in July 2024 and presented the first finished car, an orange and silver example called Fiamma, that September. The formula is two-tone paint split at the waist with chrome trim around it, bumpers finished in chrome, a new grille carrying the Carlex emblem, and 20-inch wheels styled after classic Mercedes hubcaps. Beneath it all is a current G-Class, so the car looks back to the Mercedes of the 1970s while keeping the twin-turbocharged V8 of the latest model.
This model shows a Carlex Vintage in deep metallic blue below the waist and white above, divided by a fine chrome strip. The chrome grille carries a large round Carlex Refined emblem, the bumpers are bright chrome, and the Carlex shield and script sit on each front wing. The wheels wear blue hubcaps with the Mercedes star inside polished rims. Through the glass the cabin is white, the seats faced in a black and white grid-pattern fabric and piped in blue, with a blue dashboard and steering wheel and Carlex script on the dash and doors. The centre console reads Carlex 2025. It stands on a base finished as a planked wooden deck.
