Mercedes-Benz built the CLK GTR for one reason: to win the FIA GT Championship, and the road car that followed existed only because the rules demanded it. Beneath the silver bodywork sat a 6.0-litre V12 and a carbon tub, the racing programme run jointly with AMG. This is the works #2 car in full Warsteiner colours, the livery that swept the 1997 GT1 season with Bernd Schneider at the wheel and gave Mercedes its title. The shape is pure function: a low, wide nose, deep side intakes feeding the mid-mounted engine, and a towering rear wing over the diffuser and twin exhausts.
The model carries the period sponsor set faithfully, Warsteiner, Mobil 1, Bridgestone and D2 placed exactly as they ran, over a brushed-silver finish with the red cockpit and bright multi-spoke wheels picked out cleanly. IVY presents it at 1:18 on a mirrored display base with a name plate.
