McLaren Special Operations unveiled the Sabre in December 2020, a car made for the American market and limited to 15 examples. Its twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 is rated at 824 hp, more than a standard Senna, and McLaren quoted a top speed of 218 mph. This model follows one particular car, number 03 of the run, which was photographed at the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance in 2023: papaya orange over exposed carbon, edged in bright blue, with Bruce McLaren's name written in blue script on the rear flanks, a large outlined 03 on the lower doors and an MSO badge on the sills.
The model carries the same scheme in gloss: orange front and doors, carbon-weave flanks and roof, and blue lines tracing the edges of the bodywork. The split five-spoke wheels have blue centre caps over orange calipers, the cabin is trimmed in orange with a blue crown on each headrest, and the rear plate reads McLaren Philadelphia. It sits on a carbon-weave base inside a black frame, with a plaque reading McLaren Sabre and Limited Edition beside the VIP logo. VIP builds it at 1:18.
