Land Rover built the original Defender from 1983 to 2016, and showed its replacement at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 10 September 2019. The new car was designed under Gerry McGovern and shares no components with its predecessor. It came as the three-door 90, the five-door 110 and later the longer 130, all assembled at Jaguar Land Rover's plant in Nitra, Slovakia, and the 110 was the first to reach customers, in early 2020. The range ran from a 2.0-litre petrol P300 to a supercharged 5.0-litre V8. The car also had a part in the James Bond film No Time to Die, and Land Rover marked it with a Bond Edition of about 300 cars, all with the 518 hp V8.
This 110 is finished in matt black with gloss-black wheels and a red leather cabin that shows through the windows. The rear bumper and skid plate are in satin silver, the side steps in chrome, and the spare wheel hangs on the tailgate between tall red lamps. Land Rover ovals sit on the grille, the tailgate and the mud flaps. The car stands on a mirrored black base with a LAND ROVER DEFENDER plaque. It is built at 1:18.
