Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador SVJ coupé at Pebble Beach in 2018, after a camouflaged prototype driven by Marco Mapelli had lapped the Nürburgring in 6:44.97 that July, a production-car time that beat the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The Roadster followed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, limited to 800 cars, with a removable two-piece carbon-fibre hard top and the coupé's powertrain unchanged: a V12 of 770 PS at 8,500 rpm. The SVJ was the first production V12 Lamborghini with ALA active aerodynamics, which, working with the LDVA 2.0 control system, was claimed to give 40 per cent more downforce than the SV.
Davis & Giovanni paints this one in two blues: a pale metallic ice blue over the body, and a deep royal blue on the sills, the edges of the front splitter and the lower rear quarters. A blue flash runs over the engine cover towards the fin, and a small tricolore sits on each rear flank. With the roof panels off, the blue and black seats are on show. Bare carbon covers the splitter, the mirrors and the large rear diffuser, and the tall wing rises on a central mount. The wheels are silver Y-spoke designs. It sits on a white leather base with red stitching and a black plaque naming the Aventador SVJ Roadster. Davis & Giovanni builds it at 1:18.
