The SVJ announced itself with a lap time. In July 2018 Lamborghini test driver Marco Mapelli went round the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:44.97, a record for a production car, timed and certified by GPS, and the following month the car was formally shown at Monterey Car Week. Its 6.5-litre V12 made 770 CV at 8,500 rpm, the most powerful series-production V12 Lamborghini had built, in a car weighing 1,525 kg dry, good for 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and more than 350 km/h. Much of the lap came from ALA, Lamborghini's active aerodynamics, built into a new front bumper with integrated fins and a sculpted intake in the bonnet. Production of the coupé was limited to 900 cars.
This one is painted a metallic grey-blue, with a vivid electric blue picking out the splitter, the sill extensions, the rear valance, the fins of the carbon diffuser and the top of the rear wing. The roof and engine cover are black, small Italian flags sit behind the doors, and dark multi-spoke wheels fill the arches. It stands on a white leather base stitched in red, under a mirrored plaque that names the car and reads Limited, one of 8. The model is built at 1:18.
