Lamborghini announced the open Aventador, the LP 700-4 Roadster, at the end of 2012 and built it from 2013. It kept the coupé's 6.5-litre V12 of 700 PS and its four-wheel drive, and replaced the fixed roof with two carbon fibre panels of about 6 kg each, which lift out by hand and stow in the luggage compartment under the bonnet. Stiffening the open body added around 50 kg, and Lamborghini quoted 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h. The small rear window behind the cabin can be lowered on its own, letting more of the V12's sound into the cockpit.
This piece is shown as an open Aventador with both roof panels out, finished in a satin red with a soft matte sheen. The roof frame and pillars are dark grey, the cabin is black with light grey seats, and the silver multi-spoke wheels have dark centres. At the tail, forged carbon trim runs across the top of the lamps, hexagonal mesh fills the rear vents and an AVENTADOR plate sits between them above the central exhaust. A line of gold script is printed on the front corner of the carbon-pattern base. MR Collection builds it in resin at 1:18.
