Ferrari built the Monza SP1 to answer a question almost no one was asking: what would it feel like to drive a 1950s sports racer with a modern V12 behind a fully open cockpit? There is no windscreen, no roof, and no passenger seat at all, only a single sculpted opening behind a wraparound cowl, with a Virtual Wind Shield that channels air over the driver's head. The body is one long, low gesture from the closed nose to the tapered tail, and under it sits the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 from the 812 Superfast. It was the first of Ferrari's Icona series, a small, expensive run aimed squarely at collectors who already own the obvious cars and want something stranger and more pure.
This example wears Bianco with a slim twin centre stripe and the number roundels of a barchetta, the tan leather of the lone cockpit warming an otherwise clean white shell, finished by carbon for the splitter, mirrors and diffuser. It is built at 1:18 on a presentation base, with the spoked wheels, exhaust quad and rear lettering all picked out crisply. A serious object for a serious shelf.
