Ferrari built 349 F50s between 1995 and 1997, the last leaving the line in July 1997. Its 4.7-litre V12 was developed from the 3.5-litre V12 of the 1990 Ferrari 641 Formula 1 car and produced 520 PS at 8,500 rpm, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The suspension and the engine and gearbox mountings were fixed to a central carbon-fibre tub, and the car weighed 1,230 kg. Pietro Camardella and Lorenzo Ramaciotti drew it at Pininfarina, developing ideas from the 1989 Mythos concept car, and the body was a two-seat targa. Ferrari claimed a top speed of 325 km/h.
BBR shows the F50 with its top removed, in a metallic grey, with red seats and the two black roll hoops behind them. The grey five-spoke wheels show their centre-lock nuts, the bonnet has its twin vents, and at the back a clear cover shows the top of the V12 while the mesh panel between the tail lamps reveals the gearbox and a chrome prancing horse. Below sit the twin pairs of exhausts. The car stands on a red leather base with chrome F50 lettering along its front edge. BBR builds it at 1:18.
