Ferrari released the details of the 599 GTO on 8 April 2010 as a road-legal version of the 599XX, its track-only development car. The 6.0-litre V12 made 670 PS at 8,250 rpm and 620 Nm, and Ferrari said it was the fastest road car the company had built: it lapped the Fiorano test track in 1 minute 24 seconds, one second quicker than the Enzo. The claimed figures were 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.3 seconds and more than 335 km/h. Production was planned at 599 cars, roughly 125 of them for the United States, and the car was based on the 599 GTB Fiorano, which Pininfarina styled under Jason Castriota.
This model is in a metallic red, with black multi-spoke wheels, the GTO's black mesh grille and deep front intakes, and vents behind the front wheels. At the back the GTO badge sits between the round lamps, above the black diffuser and four exhausts, and the rear glass shows a tan cabin. It sits on a red leather base, with a black plaque at the front that names the 599 GTO and reads Edizione Limitata. BBR builds it at 1:43.
