Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, Red

Ferrari took the roof off the 488 Pista for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 2018. The Pista Spider kept the coupé's 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, rated at 720 PS at 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm, and Ferrari claimed the same performance as the closed car: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.85 seconds and 340 km/h. It also brought the debut of the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, a control system that works on the car's lateral dynamics. Inside, carbon fibre and Alcantara replaced much of the usual trim and straps took the place of door handles, while the 20-inch diamond-finish alloy wheels were 20 per cent lighter than forged ones. Ferrari quoted a weight of 1,380 kg.

This model is in a bright metallic red with the roof stowed, so the cabin lies open: black seats, the roll hoops behind them and the buttresses running back over the engine cover. The wheels are black multi-spoke designs, the nose carries carbon splitter blades under the twin intakes, and the tail shows the carbon diffuser, the twin exhausts and the 488 Pista Spider script. The car stands on a red leather base with a black plaque at the front that names the model and reads Edizione Limitata. BBR builds it at 1:43.
