The 410 Superamerica was Ferrari's grand tourer for its richest clients, built from 1955 to 1959, and only 35 were made, most bodied by Pinin Farina. Luigi Chinetti showed it at the New York Auto Show at US$16,800, more than twice the price of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, and the price kept sales slow. Superamerica owners included Bill Harrah, the Shah of Iran and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. The Series III, first shown at the Paris Motor Show in October 1958, was the last version: twelve cars with new Pinin Farina bodywork and a 4.9-litre Lampredi V12 now giving 400 bhp.
BBR finishes this three-window coupé in a dark metallic blue with a lighter blue sweep line along each flank. The headlamps are open, in chrome rims, either side of an egg-crate grille with the prancing horse at its centre, and the bonnet scoop has a chrome strip running back from it. Behind each front wheel is a three-bar vent in natural metal, with a Pininfarina badge beside it. Chrome trim frames the glass, the cabin is red, the car runs on chrome wire wheels, and two pairs of exhaust tips sit under the full-width rear bumper. It stands on a grey leather base with a plaque naming the 410 Serie III. BBR builds it at 1:18.
