Chassis 6313 was sold in April 1965 to Ecurie Francorchamps and repainted in Belgian racing yellow, and at Le Mans that June it came close to winning. Entered under Pierre Dumay's own name and shared with Gustave Gosselin, the 250 LM was leading by half-distance as the works Ford and Ferrari prototypes fell away, and it stayed in front for around ten hours. Just after midday on Sunday a tyre blew at speed on the Mulsanne Straight and badly damaged the rear bodywork. Dumay nursed the car back to the pits, but the panel-beating cost them the lead, and they finished second, five laps behind the North American Racing Team LM of Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory, whose win would be Ferrari's last at Le Mans until 2023.

The model is finished in that yellow, with white roundels carrying #26 on the doors, nose and tail. The rear body lifts in one piece to expose the V12 and the inboard rear brakes, the front lid opens to the spare wheel and the pedal-box reservoirs, and the doors have sliding windows. The right-hand-drive cockpit has a red-rimmed steering wheel, blue textile seats, belts and a three-dial instrument binnacle. CMC builds it at 1:18 as a hand-assembled metal precision model of more than 1,800 parts, in a limited edition of 1,500.
