Chassis 4491GT was delivered new to David Piper in June 1963, a right-hand-drive GTO in his BP green and the second GTO he had raced. On 20 July 1963 he ran it in the GT race at the British Grand Prix meeting at Silverstone and finished second in class, behind Jack Sears in the Maranello Concessionaires GTO. Through the rest of the season Piper took it to Goodwood, Monza and Mosport, and in November he and Tony Maggs won the Kyalami 9 Hours with it. In February 1964 Piper and Lucien Bianchi finished second overall in the Daytona 2000 km. Piper later had the windscreen cut down and the roof re-profiled.
CMC shows the car as it was at Silverstone, before those changes: BP green, white #44 roundels, the plate MO 92119, and the details that set this GTO apart, among them exhausts exiting beneath the doors, a fuel filler on the right-hand side and a single wiper on the driver's side. The bonnet opens to the V12 and its six twin-choke Webers, the doors have sliding windows and the boot carries a spare wheel. Blue seats with harnesses, a wood-rimmed wheel and a full dashboard fill the cockpit, and the Borrani wire wheels run on Dunlop racing tyres. CMC builds it at 1:18 as a hand-assembled metal precision model, in a limited edition of 2,000.
