Bugatti built the Vision Gran Turismo in 2015 as a digital concept for a racing video game, then made it real enough to roll onto a stand at Frankfurt. It was the design exercise that previewed the language of the Chiron, and more pointedly it was Bugatti reaching back to its competition history, the "16" roundel on the nose nods directly to the Type 57 "Tank" racers that won Le Mans in 1937 and 1939. Every surface is in service of downforce: the towering rear wing, the sculpted diffuser with its trio of exhaust outlets, the aggressive front splitter and the fully sealed cockpit. This is Bugatti at its least restrained, a car never meant for the road but built to show what the marque would do if asked to race again.
The model captures the show car's two-tone split cleanly, pearl white flowing over the bonnet and flanks into deep metallic red across the haunches and tail, with woven carbon picking out the splitter, side strakes and the spine of that enormous wing. The polished multi-spoke wheels and the open louvres behind the cabin reward a close look. H&H presents it at 1:18 on a black leather-topped plinth.
