The Tourbillon, unveiled on 20 June 2024 as the successor to the Chiron, dropped the quad-turbo W16 that had powered Bugatti since the Veyron. In its place is a naturally aspirated V16 of 8.3 litres, developed with Cosworth, which makes 1,000 hp at 9,000 rpm and 900 Nm on its own. Three electric motors add another 800 hp, for 1,800 hp combined. The two banks of eight sit at 90 degrees, and the engine, with its dry sump, weighs 252 kg. Behind it, mounted lengthways, is a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Amalgam Collection models the engine and gearbox together, more than 40 cm long and worked up from Bugatti's own CAD data. The two carbon plenums carry BUGATTI and V16 on ribbed covers and are fed by four silver throttle bodies, and the ignition coils along each bank are printed with their part numbers. The exhaust manifolds are wrapped in gold woven heat shielding, while the pipework and silencer at the tail are clad in silver insulation and end in four rectangular tailpipes. The EB monogram is cast into a round housing on the gearbox casing, and a ribbed pulley sits at the front of the block. The unit stands on polished metal posts above a carbon-weave base, whose plaque gives the edition as 275 pieces. Amalgam Collection builds it at 1:4.
