Bugatti Chiron Sky View, Red

Bugatti showed the Chiron at the Geneva Motor Show on 1 March 2016 and named it after the Monégasque racing driver Louis Chiron. Its 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 made 1,500 PS, and production was limited to 500 cars. In July 2018 Bugatti added Sky View to the options list: two fixed glass panels in the roof, one above each seat, each 65 cm long and 44 cm wide. The glass is laminated, thin glass with four interlayers that cut wind noise, reflect infrared heat, tint against glare and filter UV light, and Bugatti said the car kept its stiffness and crash safety while gaining 2.7 cm of headroom. The option was first shown at Monterey Car Week in August 2018.

This Chiron is finished in exposed carbon weave tinted a deep red that reads close to burgundy, the weave showing through the clear coat on the bonnet, doors and tail. The cabin is trimmed in red and shows clearly through the glass. Dark wheels with polished rims, the horseshoe grille with its red Bugatti badge and the full-width rear light bar are all picked out, and the Chiron script sits on the tail. It stands on a cream leather base with black stitching and a Chiron nameplate. MR Collection builds it in resin at 1:18.
