The BMW M Hybrid V8 is the 20th BMW Art Car, painted by Julie Mehretu and unveiled on 21 May 2024 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Mehretu started from the colours and forms of her painting Everywhen (2021 to 2023); the design is built from digitally altered photographs, layered with dot grids, neon veils of colour and her black marks. Before it raced, the car was shown at the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este on Lake Como. BMW then entered it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15 June 2024 as number 20, for Sheldon van der Linde, Robin Frijns and René Rast, the first BMW M Motorsport prototype at Le Mans since the V12 LMR that won in 1999.

The artwork is reproduced across the whole prototype, from the split kidney nose to the tall fin and the rear wing endplates. The number 20 sits in white on red panels on the flanks beside the HYPERCAR badge, with the FIA and WEC logos nearby, and the black wheels wear Michelin tyres with blue bands. At the rear, thin red light strips frame the open diffuser. The black base has the car's name printed along its edge: Art Car Julie Mehretu, BMW M Hybrid V8, 2024. It is built at 1:18.
