mercedes-benz-clk-gtr-d2-privat-ivy-1-18
Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, D2 Privat

Mercedes built the CLK-GTR to take on Porsche and McLaren in the FIA GT Championship, and AMG developed it in just 128 days. It used a carbon-fibre monocoque with an aluminium honeycomb frame and a mid-mounted 6.0-litre V12, the LS600, derived from the M120. The car made its debut at the Hockenheim 4 Hours in 1997, where Bernd Schneider put it on pole before retiring with brake trouble. At the Nürburgring 4 Hours Schneider and Klaus Ludwig led home a Mercedes one-two, and by the end of that first season Mercedes held both the teams' and the drivers' championships, the drivers' title going to Schneider. Just 28 road cars, coupés and roadsters, followed in 1998 and 1999.

This one is silver with the number 35 and the D2 Privat livery: a large blue and red D2 across each door with PRIVAT spelled out beneath it, and a German flag behind the front wheels. Mobil 1 appears on the nose, the tail and the endplates of the tall rear wing, and Bridgestone runs along the sills and across the rear. The car sits on silver cross-spoke wheels, with green mirrors, the CLK's four-lamp face and grille at the front, and a slatted rear panel with twin outlets at the back. The white leather base has red stitching and a black plaque naming the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. IVY builds it at 1:18.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0821/8519/1637/files/TAH-12997-02_beecb795-d325-421f-871e-7ec952dd4920.jpg?v=1791404073
