After twelve hours Surtees and Lorenzo Bandini finished second, a single lap behind Hill and Jo Bonnier, with a Ferrari GTO completing the podium. Chassis 5909 had retired at Le Mans a fortnight earlier; later in 1964 Bob Grossman took it over, repainted it silver and raced it at Nassau.

The model shows the NART car as it ran that night: red with a white chevron across the nose, white #8 roundels, Scuderia Ferrari shields on the flanks and the NART badge on the tail. The rear body lifts in one piece over the V12, the suspension and the inboard rear brakes, the front lid opens to a strapped-down spare wheel and a chassis plate, and the doors have sliding windows. In the right-hand-drive cockpit are blue textile seats, belts and a wood-rimmed wheel. CMC builds it at 1:18 as a hand-assembled metal precision model of more than 1,800 parts, in a limited edition of 1,500.
