Poland was among the first nations CMC painted when it began the Nation Colour Project, alongside Great Britain and Spain, and the result is one of the crispest cars in the series. The Type 35 underneath is a lesson in 1920s engineering. Bugatti built it around a 2-litre overhead-cam straight-eight, then took weight out wherever it could: the front axle was hollow, and the wheels were cast alloy, eight-spoked, with the brake drums cast integrally, the first cast alloy wheels used on a racing car. The result was light, agile and dependable, qualities that carried the Type 35 from its debut at Lyon in 1924 to more than a thousand race wins.

On CMC's Polish car the body is white with the tail in red, a red 7 on the bonnet sides and a white 7 in the radiator mesh. The louvred bonnet lifts on a fully detailed straight-eight with brass carburettors and copper lines; the steering linkage, springs and wire-locked fastenings are all modelled, and the spare sits on the flank in leather straps. The cockpit has an engine-turned dashboard and a brown leather seat. CMC builds it at 1:18 from more than 930 parts, in a limited edition of 2,000.
