The best known of them was Hellé Nice, born Mariette Hélène Delangle, a dancer turned racing driver who made her name in Bugattis. In August 1931 she drove a blue Type 35 to ninth place in the Grand Prix du Comminges at Saint-Gaudens, carrying number 30. CMC names no particular driver for this set, but its colour and number sit comfortably with her story. The car itself was the Bugatti that won more than a thousand races: a 2-litre overhead-cam straight-eight in a slim body on cast alloy wheels, introduced at the Grand Prix de Lyon in 1924.

The Type 35 is finished in a bright, clear blue, with the 30 in the radiator mesh and plates reading 2066-RD9. The bonnet lifts to show the straight-eight with its brass carburettors and copper lines, the spare is held to the flank by leather straps, and the cockpit has an engine-turned dashboard, a cord-bound wheel and a brown leather seat. Alongside stands the figurine: a woman driver in a red short-sleeved blouse and white trousers, with leather helmet and goggles, posed leaning against the car. Sold together as a two-piece set, it is limited to 600 pieces and built by CMC at 1:18.

https://www.automotivehouse.com/products/bugatti-type-35-grand-prix-bright-blue-30-female-racer-cmc-1-18
